This Mayan Night Striped Baja Hoodie was my first from SoulShine Planet and I fell in love! I've been wearing Baja hoodies since I was a kid, having grown up surfing in the 70's & 80's, and these Baja's were very much the fashion back then...and 50 years later, they are still an indispensable part of my surf wardrobe! Over the years, I have worn several different manufacturers' Baja's, Senior Lopez being the originals. These SoulShine Planet Baja's are every bit as attractive, well made and comfortable as any of those others, but are quite a bit less expensive and, unlike most manufacturers, come in larger sizes, such as 4XL, which is vital for my size!
Besides casual wear, my Baja hoodies are actually part of my surf gear and apparel, as I don my wetsuit at home before heading to the beach and, unzipped, tie it's sleeves at the waist. I wear one of my Baja hoodies over the top portion. This serves at least two functions...it provides good warmth for our chilly early morning sessions here on the Oregon Coast...and it provides something attractive and pleasant on the eyes to wear over a half donned wetsuit.
The sleeves on Baja's are always a bit long on me, especially as I wear the larger 4XL size, so over the years, I have gotten in the habit of rolling back the first 3 to 4 inches, or so, of the sleeve, and tack stitching them by hand in place with thicker yarn type thread.
I have purchased other SoulShine Planet Baja's since getting this Mayan Night Striped one, and they are all of the same excellent quality and great fit as this one. I love the colors available and continue to add to my wardrobe collection of them. SoulShine Planet has always been fast, reliable and reasonably priced, whether buying direct from their website or from their store on Amazon. I will continue being a happy customer of theirs, and hope they will introduce more beautiful colors and patterns of Baja's in the future. I couldn't give a higher recommendation for SoulShine Planet or their Baja Hoodies...they simply increase my stoke! Five Full Stars!
